Abstract of a poster presentation at the 2012 Section on Pediatrics Annual Conference: UTMB’s Dana Wild and Christine Baker write that there are many options available to manage the secondary impairments of lower extremity muscle tightness in children with spastic cerebral palsy. This study offers information regarding the positive outcomes of a minimally invasive surgical procedure for children with spastic CP, adding to the knowledge of treatment options available to children with cerebral palsy. Therapists working with children post-SPML should expect increases in range of motion and improvements in functional mobility. (link unavailable)
