Educational Affairs - Office of Clinical Education

The Office of Clinical Education (OCE) provides oversight of all clinical education for John Sealy School of Medicine students, from community placements in the first year through clerkships in the third and fourth year.

OCE works to assign students to off-campus clinic locations as part of their Pediatrics, Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine and Neurology rotations. OCE staff are available to UTMB faculty, community-based physicians and students to serve as liaisons among all on- and off-campus participants in the clinical curriculum.

About Us

The mission of the Office of Clinical Education is to provide leadership among community and university-based medical educators to enhance the skills and resources needed to meet the School of Medicine's mission of training competent, caring physicians.

Development of our preceptor associates by using innovative technological advancements in areas of curricular structure, various teaching/learning methodologies, and assessment strategies with a strong focus on professionalism guide us in our quest to meet and exceed the standards of excellence set forth by the UTMB John Sealy School of Medicine.
