Accolades/Awards

2nd Annual John P. McGovern, M.D. Award in Oslerian Medicine

The Department of Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation would like to extend a special congratulation to E. Burke Evans, M.D. for receiving the 2nd Annual John P. McGovern, M.D. Award in Oslerian Medicine.  Dr. Evans exemplifies the Oslerian principles of humane clinical care, innovative teaching, honesty, generosity, and inspiration, and we are proud and grateful to have him in our department.  The award was presented on Friday, July 11, 2003 at the Osler Oration commemorating Sir William Osler's 154th Birthday, hosted by the John P. McGovern Academy of Oslerian Medicine and the Office of the President of The University of Texas Medical Branch.
