Orthopaedic Bioengineering Fellowships
Graduate fellowships are available for
engineering or computer science graduates who intend to complete
higher education at either the masters or doctoral level. These
fellowships are available for one to two years depending on the
degree sought. We currently have an active collaboration with
the biomedical engineering program at Texas A&M University.
Through this program, graduate students take one year of
coursework in College Station, TX, work for one year at our
institution, and receive their masters degree in biomedical
engineering. In the future, we hope to establish collaborations
with other institutions.
UTMB Medical Student Research Program
The UTMB Medical Student Research Program is for
first year medical students that includes research under the
supervision of a faculty member. Each student participates in a
weekly 1 - hour seminar program and in the presentation of
his/her research results in a poster session at the conclusion
of the program. Research projects can be from any discipline in
the Medical Sciences and students receive elective credit for
their participation.
Federal Work Study Program
UTMB medical and allied health students may
qualify for college work study positions in various departments
on campus. Students choose a department based on a written job
description and interviews with department supervisors. Students
can work up to 20 hours per week during school and up to 40
hours during breaks.
