The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and Rehabilitation

Psychology and Pain

The management of patient pain, whether it be acute, chronic, or post-operative, is an important part of any healthcare specialty.  The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery faculty and staff are dedicated to ensuring that our patients are able to comfortably manage any pain they may experience.

Traumatic injuries, surgery, and many medical procedures can be stressful, and for some patients, feel like and insurmountable burden.  Mental health is important in orthopaedic health, too, and our department wants our patients to feel confident and comfortable with their care and treatment.
