Opthalmology to welcome four new residents in 2013

The UTMB Health Department of Opthalmology and Visual Sciences will welcome four new residents from across America in 2013.
- Stanley Pace, Wake Forest University Medical School in North Carolina
- Jason Zhang, Brown University Medical School in Rhode Island
- Mircea Coca, University of Rochester Medical School in New York
- Emily Shortridge, University of Arizona Medical School in Arizona
OVS Residency Program Director Misha Syed, "The quality and number of the applicants this year highlights the growing national recognition for our residency program."
Some of the outstanding features of the residency program include a post-residency PhD program for residents interested in academic ophthalmology, a rotation at the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center and Methodist Hospital in Houston, and community service through the St. Vincent's House Eye Clinic.
