Morbidity and Mortality (M&M) Conference

The morbidity and mortality (M&M) conference (also known as the death and complications conference in some regions of the United States) has come to be an accepted part of surgical education. It is unique in that it provides a forum where both faculty and residents can examine surgical failure and so learn to put in place mechanisms to avoid repeating mistakes.
