Glaucoma Research Fellowship Program
The Glaucoma Research Fellowship Program is under the direction of Dr. Gianmarco Vizzeri. Dr. Vizzeri is a glaucoma specialist, full-time faculty at the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences (OVS) and director of the Ophthalmology Clinical Research Center at UTMB.
Research fellows at UTMB will gain considerable experience integrating a variety of imaging technologies in glaucoma management, including optical coherence tomography and confocal scanning laser ophthalmoscopy.
Fellows are expected to present results of their research projects in the form of poster or paper presentations at the UTMB Health OVS spring ophthalmology alumni meeting or another professional conference such as AAO or ARVO. AAO abstracts are due in April, while ARVO abstracts are due in December.
Fellows have the opportunity to attend OVS educational activities, including grand rounds, morning reports, journal clubs, morbidity, mortality and improvement conferences.
