Volunteering

Ever thought your gifts might be used as a volunteer chaplain?

Lay Chaplains currently are trained through a "Community of Hope" model at William Temple Episcopal Center. You can find out more information about becoming a lay chaplain by calling Linda or Cleta at 409-762-8641. Also welcome are lay chaplains who have been trained through similar training programs (e.g. Hands on Ministry or Stephens Ministry).

Other important volunteers include the Catholic Pastoral Assistants--these volunteers support the pastoral care ministry of the Catholic Chaplains Corps and are supervised by the priests in the hospital.

The Texas Dept of Criminal Justice chaplain's office has a devoted group of volunteers who are supervised by the TDC chaplain.

Use this room to refrigerate and microwave food, store your coat or personal items in a locker, or to sit and relax on the comfy couches. Another benefit to volunteering is the chance to join the field house.
