Fellowship in Clinical Microbiology/Infectious Diseases Pathology
This ACGME-accredited fellowship includes training in all aspects of clinical microbiology, including the molecular diagnosis of infectious diseases and laboratory administration. Two years of training is recommended to prepare the fellow for an academic career. Training in the surgical pathology, autopsy pathology and cytology of infectious diseases is available. A research project is required, with opportunities for both applied research in clinical microbiology and research in experimental pathology relating to the pathogenesis of infectious diseases.
The Department of Pathology is the home of the WHO Collaborating Center for Tropical Diseases, the Medical Mycology Research Center, the Arbovirus Research Center, and more than 25 faculty with clinical work and research relevant to infectious diseases.
The fellowship is open to residents who have completed 4 years of AP/CP training.
