Dr. Geary is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics in the Division of Neonatology. She received her B.S. in Biology from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, as well as her Ph.D. in Physiology and M.D. Her residency was completed at Children’s Hospital, University of Washington and she completed a fellowship in neonatology at Children’s Hospital & Medical Center in Cincinnati. Dr. Geary is interested in enhancing the humanism and compassion in medicine. She does this by teaching meditation to UTMB employees, and two different electives to medical students. She is the Director of UTMB’s Perinatal Hospice and Palliative Care Program. Another major interest of hers is research experimental design. She is Co-Chair of the Resident Research Committee and is actively involved in mentoring both residents and fellows predominantly in the area of neonatal outcomes and pulmonary management.
