A native Texan from San Angelo. Dr. Hecox earned her medical degree at University of Texas Medical Branch. She then went on to Memphis, Tennessee to complete her pediatric residency. Prior to joining UTMB Dr. Hecox was an Assistant Professor at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center.
