Appointment Scheduling

Well visits or regular follow-up visits: Please try to schedule well check ups, physicals or routine follow-up's at least 3 weeks in advance. We will make every effort to work with your schedule.

Sick visits: We will always try to see your children when they are ill. Calling early in the morning (before 10 a.m.) allows us the best chance to work them in that day. Appointment times range from 8:30 to 4:15 p.m.

Emergencies: If you have an urgent problem during regular hours Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., please call 772-3695 before going to the ER or urgent care clinic. We are usually able to work you in immediately or will help coordinate your ER visit or urgent care visit. Please be sure to tell the person on the phone that this is an emergency.

Late Arrivals

Patients arriving more than 15 minutes late may be asked to reschedule to another day or with another provider if there is an opening that day. We will try to work with you, but we do need your help with this.

Phone Calls

We receive hundreds of phone calls each day and it is our goal to take care of each one quickly and correctly. If you need advice, we will return your call as quickly as possible, but it may not be immediately. Please give an alternate phone number if needed. If the matter is urgent, please let us know. Our nurses and senior residents, who work closely with each of the other doctors to care for your child, will be the individuals most likely to return your call.

Insurance and Copays

As long as your PCP is one of our listed faculty members then any of the providers in our clinic will be covered by your insurance plan.

Please be sure to bring any copay with you to your appointment. We are required by your insurance plans to collect these at the time of your visit.

Forms and Shot Records

Please bring your child's shot record to each visit. New shots are being added all the time to help young people be healthy and stay healthy. This will allow us to be sure we are providing you and your family with the best medical care possible.

Remember that you will need your child's shot record to register in school, and periodically throughout the school years. If you need a copy of your child's shot record, please call the clinic. Allow two full working days for the record to be completed.

If you need other forms completed, please bring them at the time of your visit and we will complete them while you are there. If needs arise after a visit, please allow 2 full working days for these to be completed.

Refilling Prescriptions

Many of you will have prescriptions to be refilled. You can often handle this by phone, unless your doctor has asked to see your child again before refilling medicines. Often, this is to determine whether a dose change is needed, check for side effects, or to monitor results.

If an appointment is needed, it is best to make these three weeks in advance. If no appointment is required, please call at least 2 business days before you will run out of medication. The medical chart must be reviewed and discussed with a physician, which may cause a delay. If you have a mail-in pharmacy program, please let us know so we can provide you with the appropriate written prescriptions.

Literacy Promotion

We participate in the national Reach Out and Read Program and provide new books to all children from 6 months to 5 years old at the time of their visits for well check ups, to aid in literacy promotion. We also have a Book Club program in which new and gently used books are available at each visit for children of all ages to take home.
