Subspecialty Alternate Training Pathways

The American Board of Pediatrics has outlined new alternative pathways for Pediatric residency training that allows flexibility for residents interested in  careers in sub-specialties, research, and combined specialties. The residency program at UTMB fully embraces these recommendations and encourages residents to seek a training pathway that fulfills their career goals. Research strengths presently at UTMB include, among others, vaccine development, infectious diseases and tropical medicine, allergy-immunology and environmental air quality and neonatology/perinatology.
