Living in Galveston Island
Galveston is a semi-tropical island, two miles off the Texas coast and about 45 miles south of Houston. UTMB campus is several blocks from the Gulf of Mexico.
A wide variety of housing opportunities are available, including historic homes within walking distance of the university, lovely waterfront homes on the island’s gulf and bay sides, and modern elegant homes in the new suburbs that have developed between Houston and Galveston.
