 Mission Statement

The Pediatrics Resident Training Program at UTMB educates residents on the skills necessary to practice patient-based, state-of-the-art pediatrics.

We prepare physicians to provide comprehensive health care that is:

  • Culturally sensitive

Our trainees will not only serve children and adolescents, but also their families and their communities.

We will accomplish our mission by teaching, modelingand promoting the principles and values that have established thepractice of pediatrics as a respected discipline, such as:

  • Effective interpersonal communication
  • Collaboration with patients, parents and other health care professionals
