Mind-body Medicine

Dr. Geary has been trained as a Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction Instructor. Having taught this intensive 8-week program three times, the 45 participants completing the program have shown a 50% decrease in medical symptoms (as scored on the "Medical Symptom Checklist").

She is exploring this meditation program as an adjunct to traditional medicine. The longterm goal of this pursuit is the investigation of prenatal stress reduction as a means of improving neonatal outcomes.
