Pharmacology and Toxicology - Students

Christopher Wild, MS

Program: Ph.D.

Christopher received his B.A. in biology and an M.S. in chemistry from the California State University at Northridge under the direction of Dr. Gagik Melikyan. Christopher's thesis focused on the development of cobalt-mediated, radical cyclization reactions leading to the synthesis of biologically relevant compounds. Currently, as a first year student at UTMB's Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology Graduate Program, Christopher has taken an interest in drug discovery from the medicinal chemist's point of view. Prior to arriving at UTMB, Christopher has taught high school science, coached varsity basketball, was a research chemist in chemical idustry, and a support chemist in the bio-pharmaceutical industry. Christopher durrently teaches organic chemistry at San Jacinto College.
