Faculty & Research

Neuropharmacology

Neuropharmacology focuses on the study of drugs that modify the function of the nervous system. The scientists in the Department of Pharmacology & Toxicology are engaged in integrated anatomical, electrophysiological, imaging, neurochemical and behavioral research.

Cancer Pharmacology

Cancer Pharmacology focuses on the identification of the molecular mechanisms by which cancer cells subvert normal control. Department researchers are studying the role of protein kinases, including protein kinase A and protein kinase C, the parathyroid hormone-related protein and the hedgehog signaling pathways in cellular signaling and cancer.

Molecular Design

Molecular design is the newest research initiative in the Department of Pharmacology & Toxicology. The impetus is the spectacular progress in recent years in genomics, proteomics, bioinformatics, and structural biology.
