Student:

Tod Harper, B.S.

Ph.D.

Advisor: Cornelis Elferink, Ph.D.

Tod was born in Beech Grove, Indiana but grew up on both coast as a child before moving back to the great state of Indiana. Missing the ocean, Tod attended Texas A&M University @ Galveston where he received a B.S. in Marine Biology. Currenlty, Tod's world revolves around the Aryl Hydrocarbon Receptor. This multifaceted receptor is a transcription factor most known for its role in the adaptive metabolism of xenobiotics and the toxic responses associated with exposure to TCDD. However, Tod is studying the receptors role in liver homeostatis or more specifically cell death in the absence of an exogenous ligand under the direction of Dr Cornelis Elferink. In his spare time he enjoys listening to music, camping, watching movies and having a good time with family and friends.
