Current
responsibilities as Professor, Department of Preventive Medicine and
Community Health are to provide leadership, direction and support to the
faculty, staff and students of the Department. The Department has seven
Divisions including: Sociomedical Sciences, Environmental Toxicology,
Epidemiology and Biostatistics, Human Nutrition, Clinical Preventive
Medicine, Medical Humanities, International Health and Institutional and
Correctional Health. The Department has teaching responsibilities in the
School of Medicine in the first, second and fourth years of the curriculum
and is responsible for residency programs in General Preventive Medicine,
Aerospace Medicine, Occupational Medicine and a combined Internal
Medicine/Preventive Medicine program; in addition the departmental faculty
administer eight distinct curricula within the graduate program in
Preventive Medicine and Community Health through the Graduate School of
Biomedical Sciences. The Department maintains investigative programs in
each of its divisions. The Department maintains a variety of service
programs both inside the University and in the external community.
