Biography:
Dr. Lee is an Associate Professor in the Department of Preventive
Medicine and Community Health, Division of Nutrition. He teaches
GI/Nutrition as a course facilitator in the medical school and often
interacts with students about the analytical aspects of porphyrin
compounds. He oversees the operation of the Porphyria Laboratory,
which serves not only UTMB patients but also serves as an international
reference laboratory. He is a clinical chemist and works on heme
precursors, porphyrin compounds, and enzymes involved in heme pathway.
He serves currently as an Editorial Board Member of Clinica Chimica
Acta (2001 - 2004).
