Congratulations to Mary Ellen Kuhlmann, a PM&CH student and graduate assistant in the Division of Rehabilitation Sciences, for earning the nation-wide honor of “Best Essay” from the American Congress of Rehabilitation Medicine.  Mary Ellen’s essay was titled, “Transdisciplinary Teams: An Evolving Approach to Rehabilitation.”  Please join the PM&CH GSO in congratulating Mary Ellen for this honor and see the IMPACT article.

Carlos A. Reyes-Ortiz, Post-Doc with Sealy Center on Aging

“Alien of extraordinary ability” (the highest category of approval for a green card without a job offer and without using immigration lawyer) by the US Immigration & Naturalization Service (February 2005)

American Society of Clinical Oncology Merit Award (February 2005), for a work on prostate cancer

Grant No. R24 HS011618-04 from the Agency of Healthcare Research and Quality, for his Dissertation Proposal (melanoma and SES) was awarded from September 2004 to June 2006

One article published in Ethnicity & Disease, and five others accepted in the Journal American Geriatrics Society, Journal of Aging and Health, Medical Sciences Monitor, Aging & Mental Health, and Colombia Medica.
