The Graduate Program in Preventive Medicine and Community Health is authorized to award the MS and PhD degrees. The PMCH Program features a core curriculum with several curricular tracks that allow specialized study in areas within the broad field of Preventive Medicine and Community Health. A unifying theme of this graduate program is the fulfillment of society's interest in assuring the conditions in which people can be healthy. Much of the work done by scientists in this field is through organized community efforts aimed at the prevention of disease and the limitation of disability and rests upon the scientific core of epidemiology. Employment opportunities encompass both activities undertaken within the formal structure of government and the associated efforts of private and voluntary organizations and individuals. Our vision is simply "Healthy People in Healthy Communities."
