Foreign Medical School Graduates

Requirements for the UTMB Preventive Medicine Residency:

• ECFMG - (Education Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates)

Successfully complete the following:

• USMLE Step 1
• USMLE Step 2
• English Language Proficiency Test
• Clinical Skills Assessment
• Completion of PGY-1 year in an ACGME (Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education) accredited program with at least six months of direct patient care (does not apply to combined tracks)
• J1 or H1-B Visa (or be eligible for)
• United States citizenship for the government funded aerospace medicine residency.  Without U.S. citizenship, consideration can be given for the aviation medicine track if applicant has support from government/agency/employer.
