Occupational Medicine Residency

Mission Statement

The Occupational Medicine Residency Program at the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston (UTMB) is designed to give physicians a firm educational foundation and sound clinical groundwork in the science of occupational and environmental medicine, while providing an opportunity to learn in the working environment.

It is our mission to prepare physicians for leading roles in occupational medicine to maintain the health of employees through a variety of preventive, clinical and workplace safety and environment programs.  Our emphasis is on utilizing the medical departments at major petrochemical sites, plus providing rotations in private and governmental clinics, rehabilitation centers, public health departments, and clinical electives
