PPM is a subcategory of the Moderate Complex CLIA category.
The proper certificate, Certificate for PPM, is required.

Microscopy Procedures.
Requirement: Procedures
must be performed at the time of the patient's visit by a primary care provider
(Physician, Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant).

Quality Control: Providers are required to undergo
competency and semi-annual proficiency
testing (password required). In addition, documentation of microscope
daily maintenance must be kept on site at all times.
