Description

The World Health Organization Collaborating Center for Tropical Diseases invites nominations for its award recognizing excellence in research on emerging or tropical infectious diseases. This award is given to an UTMB graduate student who has made a significant contribution to studies on an emerging or tropical infectious disease through research in either basic science, epidemiology or clinical science.

Eligibility

Students who are enrolled in a doctoral  program at UTMB or master's degree students who already have a professional degree (MD, DDS, DVM.)

Amount Awarded

$ 500

Nominations

This award is administered by the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences Awards Committee. Faculty members who wish to nominate a student for this award should write a letter including the student's name, graduate program and detailing the student's significant contribution to emerging or tropical infectious disease research. A completed standard Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences nomination form, student's curriculum vitae and copies of any abstracts or publications generated from his/her studies should also be included. The complete application should be sent to Angie Tropea, 4.120 Levin Hall.
