Director of Child Psychiatry Residency Training
The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston offers a two-year ACGME accredited residency in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. Essential skills and knowledge are emphasized with a wide range of clinical experience and seminars. In addition to the university-based inpatient, day hospital, outpatient and consultation services, rotations include community mental health clinics, juvenile justice, pediatric neurology and school consultation. The program has a strong emphasis on minority mental health issues with lectures in cross cultural child psychiatry and consultation to community mental health clinics. Various research opportunities exist and the faculty encourages residents to pursue their interests.
