COGNITIVE:

  2. List the major signs and symptoms of depression.
  3. Discuss the difference between reactive, bipolar, and major depressive episode.
  4. Analyze the biochemical theories of drug therapy for chronic depression.
  5. Describe a panic attack and contemporary treatment.
  6. Define dissociative disorders and discuss the clinical features.
AFFECTIVE:
  1. Express your personal feelings about how serious a major depressive episode can be.
  2. List the potential of suicide in a patient who is severely depressed and your feelings about how you will deal with a patient committing suicide under your care.
PSYCHOMOTOR:
  1. Ask a classmate about their experiences with suicide involving a friend or family member.
  2. Observe a hostile interaction and write out how you would respond in that situation to de-escalate the interaction.
  3. State out loud to a classmate the major factors to watch for in a depressed patient.
  4. Attend a Crisis Prevention Institute model for managing aggressive behaviors.
  5. Watch the Movie "Girl Interrupted" and discuss it with a classmate.
