Pediatric Services

The Pediatric Service division of Rehabilitation Services offers both Physical and Occupational Therapy services to children and teens admitted into the hospital at the University as well as special services clinics at a variety of off site locations

Focus of Pediatric Physical therapy service:

  • Mobility assessment and treatment
  • Strength, Flexibility and Endurance training
  • Assessment and recommendations for specialized equipment needs such as ambulatory assist devices and wheelchair/sitting equipment
  • Developmental assessment and treatment for appropriate age related skills

Focus of Pediatric Occupational therapy service:

  • Age appropriate activity of daily living (ADL) skills
  • Fine motor skills
  • Hand Functioning
  • Upper and Lower extremity splinting

Inpatient Information:

  • Inpatients are seen within the hours of 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. (CST)
  • Patients are seen after consultation is received from their Primary Provider
  • Staff Members hold additional certifications in infant massage and Pediatric Specialist.

Outpatient Information:

  • Patients should receive consultation for therapy from their primary care provider
  • Location and Times for appointments will be determined by staff and family
