Shriners Burns Institute

Shriners Burns Institute is a 30-bed pediatric burn hospital that has been in operation since 1966 under the auspices of the Shriners Organization. Children are admitted for both the treatment of acute burns and cosmetic reconstruction at no cost to the family.

The Shriners Burns Institute Pharmacy was opened in 1982 under a contractual service affiliation agreement with the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. The Department of Pharmacy provides unit-dose distributive services and includes IV Admixture, Extemporaneous Compounding, and Outpatient Prescription Pharmacy Services.

Clinical Services provided by the Pharmacist as a member of the Pediatric Burn Team include:
