Narrative: |
|
All schools and academic programs at The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston publish admissions policies consistent with the university's mission statement, especially to “provide scholarly teaching,” “enable the state’s talented individuals to become outstanding practitioners, teachers, and investigators in the health care sciences,” and provide “comprehensive primary, specialty, and sub-specialty care clinical programs [that] support the educational mission (1).” The admission policies are published in the University Catalog and all four school bulletins. All four bulletins are on each school's individual website and both the Catalog and the bulletins are on the Office of Enrollment Services website (2) (3) (4a) (4b) (4c) (5a) (5b) (5c) (5d) (6). The admission policies set the requisite qualifications that students must possess in order to be admitted and successfully complete their chosen course of study. They have been delegated to its four schools and are based upon the accepted standards of the disciplinary accrediting agencies for the degree programs offered.
