The Human Tumor Bank Core

The Human Tumor Bank Core is part of our efforts to facilitate cancer research activities at UTMB. Collection of tumor tissues is a collaboration effort between the Sealy Center for Cancer Cell Biology and Division of Surgical Pathology. This bank contains over 1200 different specimens of various tumor types collected over last 4 years. The Human Tumor Bank Core provides tissues for cancer-related research to researchers with approved the Institutional Review Board (IRB) as well as permission from the Biological Safety Committee  for using biohazard materials. Authorization from only ONE of these sources will not suffice. In addition, this service will promote material sharing and provides service on cancer tissue-related research.
