Real-Time PCR Core Facility

Thank you for interest in our real time PCR core. Our procedure is very simple:

1. Email gene name(s) and genebank accession number(s) to nhe@utmb.edu. Indicate whether to measure RNA(cDNA) or genomic DNA samples and specific region if your target is not general gene. You are also welcomed to discuss your project (such as transgene, knockout, SiRNA, SNP, microRNA, etc.) in person.
2. We will notify you the cost of the assay(s)
3. You are required to confirm the ordering by sending ISC# as well as your department and supervisor’s name.
4. We will design and place the order and notify you by email when it is received (approximately 3~4 business days for inventory assays and 2~3 weeks for non-inventory and custom assays).
5. Bring your well-cleaned (include totally removed DNA contamination from your RNA samples) samples to the Real Time PCR Core Facility, MRB 9.150.
   Bring cDNA samples, do RT with random hexamers; you can bring RNA samples if your target gene expression is high.
6. Fill out the sample sheet.

The results will be emailed to you within 5 business days.
