Project 1 (Reyes Ortiz PI) Socioeconomic differences in melanoma incidence, stage at diagnosis, survival, and chemotherapy use among older persons.
The study will use data from the Surveillance, Epidemiology and End Results (SEER) registries linked to Medicare and the 1990 US Census to find melanoma cases and other variables (1991-2000). This is to explore the relationship between SES (measured as education and income) and incidence, stage at diagnosis, survival, and patterns of chemotherapy use on melanoma.
