UTMB OAIC Pilot Studies
Pepper Pilot studies - Current
The OAIC theme is Translating Biological Mechanisms of Muscle Growth and Loss to Improve Function and Recovery from Illness in Older Adults. Pilot studies contribute to this effort by developing innovative translational research projects focused on understanding the mechanisms of muscle dysfunction and improving muscle function and recovery in older adults. They also provide junior investigators with hands-on mentoring from senior faculty, enable senior faculty to develop parallel research interests related to sarcopenia, and mobilize our substantial University resources to support research efforts from the bench to clinical trials.
