Senior volunteers (age 55 and over) are invited to join the UTMB Center on Aging Volunteer Registry. The Registry is a list of people who have volunteered to take part in research studies on the health and well-being of older persons. By becoming a participant in aging research, you will have a chance to learn more about your own health and participate in studies you find interesting.

Senior volunteers (age 60 and over) are invited to participate in research on muscle function, fitness, and health and well-being of older persons. Muscle strength will be studied in terms of the effect of exercise, drugs, hormones and nutrition.

People of all ages are invited to become a Friend of the ACE Unit, the 20-bed Acute Care for the Elderly Unit on the 10th floor of John Sealy Hospital. Volunteers make a world of difference in the constellation of care for the elderly, especially to be present, to listen, read, and play games, music or other creative activities.
