Habitat VolunteersWhat type of volunteer work is needed?

There are many types of volunteer work throughout Galveston County and in other locations near by. Volunteers help in their communities by doing a variety of projects. Getting involved may include putting information in packets for a mail-out; answering phones or greeting visitors; help cook and serve meals; assist food pantries by stocking shelves or handing out food items; making minor home repairs, painting or taking part in a Habitat home construction; providing hospice care; becoming a member of a board of directors; working with children in a variety of settings; volunteering as a city council member; neighborhood safety/crime avoidance; fundraising; or checking on the elderly by telephone or home visits. These are just a few of the volunteer opotunities available...there are many additional opportunities waiting for you to become involved.
