Janice Endsley, Ph.D.
Research Interests:

To characterize the role and regulation of granule proteins in acquired and innate immunity to intracellular pathogens, especially M. tuberculosis and HIV/TB co-infection. My specific interests include determining how the balance of cytolytic weapons deployed by T cells and NK cells is regulated following recognition of pathogen type within the context of the tissue micro-environment. Determining the effects of TLR activation, cytokine signaling, and ligation of activating receptors, are very important towards understanding protective antimicrobial responses by cytotoxic lymphocytes. These studies will provide important information for designing vaccines or therapeutics to augment protective cell mediated immunity.
