Back to iUTMB...

This page permits you to set your preference for your UTMB home page. It allows you to select between two distinct pages: one designed for external visitors or one designed for faculty, staff and students.

This function is accomplished through the use of a “cookie.” A cookie is a small text file that resides on your computer and is used by our server to “remember” your choice. The iUTMB cookie only saves your name and your page choice; it expires in one year. This cookie is only used for this purpose and will not be shared. (See below if you prefer to avoid cookies but still want to set a preference.)

The cookie is stored by and only works for the web browser you are using when you set the preference, and only if your browser is set to accept cookies. The cookie is only read when you visit www.utmb.edu. For more information about cookies, please visit our privacy statement. If you have any questions, contact us.

Setting your preference with this tool will write a cookie to your web browser. If you prefer to not allow cookies to be written to your browser or wish to access iUTMB from a non-UTMB computer, set your default home page URL* as follows:

  • To set the public UTMB home page and "deactivate" the iUTMB re-route, set your default address to http://www.utmb.edu?redir=no

  • To use the iUTMB home page (from a home computer using a commercial Internet Service Provider, as a sample application) without using a cookie, set your default address to http://www.utmb.edu/iutmb.asp

*In Netscape, the Set Default Home Page feature is under "Edit," then "Preferences."

*In MS Internet Explorer, the Set Default Home Page feature is under "Tools," then "Internet Options."
