2009 PREMEDICAL CONFERENCE

Greetings!

The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston is planning to host the 2009 Premedical Conference. The purpose of this conference is to share information that will be valuable and helpful in the medical school admission process. We are delighted to inform you that the conference is FREE this year to those who pre-register!

Time:                         8:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

Location:                   University of Texas Medical Branch

                                  William C. Levin Hall

                                  Galveston, Texas

Keynote Speaker:      Bernard Godley, M.D., Ph.D., Chair

                                  Department of Ophthalmology

                                     and Visual Sciences

Continental breakfast and lunch will be provided.

This conference will afford students the opportunity to visit our campus with its modern facilities, to interact with the outstanding faculty and exceptional students of this, the first medical school in Texas. Several sessions and workshops are planned that focus on:

• The admissions process
• UTMB’s Integrated Medical Curriculum
• Interviewing skills
• Tips on writing a personal statement
• Life as a medical student
• Joint Admissions Medical Program (JAMP)
• Campus tours

Again, registration is FREE for those students who register before March 23, 2009. We will accept late/onsite registration for a $10 fee. The registration form can be downloaded by clicking here.
