A call for UTMB's Support Staff Professionals to help and support the “Celebration of Life”

D’Feet Breast Cancer, Inc. Run or Walk to Fight Breast Center – Saturday 20 October 2007

Volunteer, Walk or Run

Volunteers are still needed for the event. Volunteers begin their day at 5:45am on site at Moody Gardens. Volunteers are responsible for a multitude of tasks, from cheering the children on their 1k kids run, to signing up new registrants, showing off the D’Feet merchandise in the merchandise tent, feeding the hungry walkers and runners, participating the children’s party and wrangling the crowds surrounding the birds prior to flight. The volunteer coordinator needs to hear from you by the end of the week if you want to volunteer. Contact her at dfeetvolunteers@yahoo.com or by calling 409 771-6332.

http://www.dfeetbreastcancer.com/Sign up today to run or walk. Early-registration runs through Oct. 10. Gather your friends together and form a team for the event!  If a group of 5–8 people registers as a team before the early deadline, you’ll receive a free color group photo at the event. Door prizes are among the new offerings this year. Registration begins at 6:30 a.m. and activities will continue through the morning. For additional details or to register for the 5K walk that goes through Schlitterbahn, the certified 5K or 10K adult races, or for the 1K children’s event, visit the web site or call (409) 771-5574.

If you are unavailable that day but want to help support our endeavors you can make a donation on-line, or visit The kat’s Meow Fundraising Page.

There’s also an opportunity to volunteer and help out at the Packet Pick-Up sites the week prior to the event on the Mainland, and also in Galveston.

If you are a Survivor, please let us know, and see the note below - we honor you!

2007 ‘Celebration of Life' - Oct. 20

INVITATION TO BREAST CANCER SURVIVORS

Please bring your family and friends and join us as we celebrate life in your honor. Opening events will begin at 8:00am. There will be times of tribute and wonderful fun events for all ages. As a survivor you are invited to visit the Sara P. Rose Breast Cancer Survivor Hospitality Tent. This is a place to relax and visit with other survivors. American National Insurance Company and Sisters Three Florist have gifts for you. Since D’Feet is an all volunteer organization, we try to use every penny wisely. When you visit, give us your email address and your name will be entered in a drawing for gifts. These addresses will enable us to send the newsletter for survivors via email. Because you ARE a survivor your voice is valuable in helping women understand the importance of early detection of breast cancer. Will you please join us? Call 409-771-5574 or visit www.dfeetbreastcancer.com. Visit the hospitality tent anytime before noon. It will be a pleasure to meet you.
