The Email Institutional Strategies          

  1. Develop strategic partnerships with UTMB communities including private industry, UT components, community organizations, government, etc. to support the creation and maintenance of education, research, and clinical programs. 

  2. Develop and implement a universal state-of-the-art electronic medical record, and develop and implement a state-of-the-art bio-informatics database. 
  3. Develop institutional marketing and product development capabilities in the clinical, research, education arenas. 
  4. Redesign the institution’s incentive system to advance the institutional strategies and priorities and to recognize the changing roles of health care providers, researchers, and educators.  
  5. Enhance the information technology infrastructure to support the collection, management and use of vast stores of data; the EMR; distance education; and telehealth. 
  6. Increase participation in the post Genome projects. 
  7. Develop the UTMB Website to serve as a portal to all institutional services, (healthcare, education, research) including transaction processing. 
  8. Increase UTMB’s financial base (revenue, gifting, research). 
  9. Expand offerings in distance education, and expand the telehealth program. 
  10. Develop a comprehensive clinical outcomes research capability. 
  11. Promote public health in the populations served by UTMB. 
  12. Increase investment in staff training and development. 
  13. Prepare for the ethical implications of new health care and education delivery systems
