The
Email Institutional Strategies
-
Develop
strategic partnerships with UTMB communities including
private industry, UT components, community
organizations, government, etc. to support the creation
and maintenance of education, research, and clinical
programs.
- Develop and implement a
universal state-of-the-art electronic medical record,
and develop and implement a state-of-the-art
bio-informatics database.
- Develop institutional
marketing and product development capabilities in the
clinical, research, education arenas.
- Redesign
the institution’s incentive system to
advance the institutional strategies and priorities and
to recognize the changing roles of health care
providers, researchers, and educators.
- Enhance
the information technology infrastructure to support the
collection, management and use of vast stores of data; the EMR;
distance education; and telehealth.
- Increase participation in
the post Genome projects.
- Develop the UTMB Website
to serve as a portal to all institutional services,
(healthcare, education, research) including transaction
processing.
- Increase UTMB’s
financial base (revenue, gifting, research).
- Expand
offerings in distance education, and expand the
telehealth program.
- Develop a comprehensive
clinical outcomes research capability.
- Promote public health in the populations
served by UTMB.
- Increase
investment in staff training
and development.
- Prepare for the ethical
implications of new health care and education delivery
systems
