Installing UTMB Dialup Services 2.0
UTMB Dialup Services uses Microsoft’s Internet Connection Manager to install and configure dialup networking for Windows 95/98/ME/2000/XP. The process is completely automatic – you choose only the phone number to dial from the phone book included.
1. Put the UTMB Dialup Services diskette in drive A:, click Start, then Run..., and type A:\SETUP or browse to A: and choose SETUP.EXE (if you downloaded the program via the web, find the SETUP.EXE and run it.

2. Click Yes, and on the next screen choose whether the icon will be available only to your login or to any account on your PC. Click the Add a shortcut on the desktop box:

Click OK, then click Yes to create the folder.
3. This will
install the following icon on your desktop and add an entry to your Network
Connections control panel:

Note that you may have to reboot and provide the location of your Windows 95/98 files (or insert your Windows CD) to complete the installation.
4. To configure the installation double click the UTMB Dialup Services icon;
this will bring up the Connection Manager window:

Note that you
cannot connect until the username and phone number information is completed
5. Click on the Properties button:

and click the Phone Book button to select the phone number of the UTMB service to dial (Galveston, Houston/Dickinson, or 888).
Click OK. If your modem is not installed, you will be asked if it should be detected or if you will select the modem from a list. You can also choose a backup phone number if available.

The UTMB Connection Manager is now ready to use; enter your modem pool username and password and click Connect.
6. Enter your modem pool username (same as your email username) and, if your
computer is secure, enter your password (same as your email password) and click
Save password:

Click Connect to dial and complete the connection. Once connected you can use
your web browser, email program, and other internet applications.
7. To disconnect right click the dialup connection icon in the tray and choose Disconnect.
