Configuring Outlook Express
1. For a new install of Outlook Express, choose a folder to keep mail and other files

2. Choose Accounts from the Tools menu.

3. Click the Add button and select Mail...

Enter your name. Click Next.
4. Enter your Internet email address. Your email address is the email alias you were assigned with your exchange email account (username@utmb.edu).

Click Next.
5. Select POP3 from the pulldown menu. Enter your exchange server name: for students this is student.utmb.edu. For faculty/staff replace MAILSERVER with exchange1, exchange2, exchange3, or exchange4. See Finding the Name of Your Exchange Email Server to determine which entry to use, or call the IS Help Desk (772-5200) for assistance.

Click Next.
6. Enter your mail username and password. These were assigned when you applied for your email account (or were converted from marlin).

Click Next.
7. Now choose a friendly name that will appear in your Outlook Express menus.

Click Next.
8. Select Connect using my phone line to setup your dialup connection. If your modem pool connection is already configured select I will establish my Internet connection manually (and skip to instruction #11).

Click Next.
9. Enter your Modem Pool username and Password in the Internet Connection Wizard.

Click Next.
10. Click No in the Advanced Settings window.

Click Next.
11. Give your dialup connection a name.

Click Next.
12. Click Finish.

13. Your accounts window will now look similar to:

Click Close.
14. You can choose Connect from the File Menu in Outlook Express to dial your modem pool account, or double-click the connectoid in the DialUp Networking folder (under My Computer).
