The SAFE Project is a network of students, faculty and staff at the University of Texas Medical Branch who are supportive of individuals who are gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgendered or questioning their sexual orientation (GLBTQ).

The Project’s mission is to invite and empower campus community members to self-identify as SAFE  Allies.  We are committed to raising awareness of GLBTQ concerns, providing resources, and promoting a supportive environment.  Our vision is an environment in which people of all sexual orientations and gender identities feel valued, respected, included, and safe.

Look for SAFE placards outside campus offices or pins on backpacks. These signs identify individuals as accepting of all people and willing to treat GLBTQ individuals with respect.
