Spring 2008 Student Government Elections

The SGA Spring Elections will be held on Tuesday, April 8, 2008.
Nominations for this election will open on Monday, March 17th and will be open for two weeks. All nominations are self nominations and interested candidates should come to the Office of Student Life to sign up and complete an Election Packet.
The election schedule and positions avaialble are listed below.

Also, the Student Government Association will be using a new online voting system this year. Within the next few weeks, prior to the election day, all UTMB students will receive an email to register in the new system.

Dates for 2008 SGA Spring Elections
Nomination Period: Monday, March 17th through April, March 28th
(All nominations are self nominations. Students can sign up for nominations at the Office of Student Life, room 2.110 in the Jamail Student Center)
Campaign Period: Monday, March 31st through Monday, April 7th
(Although this time is designated as campaign week, nominees can start campaigning once we have all documentation on file.)
Election Day: Tuesday, April 8th - elections will be held online.
Run-off Election Day (if needed): Monday, April 14th

(These positions are elected by the entire student body. These positions are not school specific and are open to students from all four UTMB schools.)

*The President and Treasurer shall have been an active member of the campus community with appropriate leadership experience as defined by the Executive Committee By-laws.

3 Senators - 2 full senators and 1 alternate senator

School of Allied Health Sciences
4 Senators - 3 full senators and 1 alternate senator

School of Nursing
3 Senators - 2 full senators and 1 alternate senator
