The Syndrome, the UTMB student yearbook, was first published in 1953. The Office of Student Life and SGA provide the staff for the yearbook. All students and student organizations are encouraged to participate in the development of the Syndrome by submitting photos of their groups. Students interested in helping in other ways (are always welcome and) should contact the Office of Student Life, at 772-1996.
The Syndrome arrives in August of each year. The books are mailed to the graduating seniors of the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences, the School of Nursing and the School of Medicine. All graduating students should be sure to leave a correct forwarding address with the Office of Enrollment Services. The School of Allied Health Sciences graduates will receive their Syndromes at the August commencement ceremonies.
When the books arrive, the Office of Student Life will set up a date and time for distribution. Students can come by the Office of Sudent Life to pick up a copy of past yearbooks if they do not have one already.
**Rememer, students will get their first yearbook after their first year of enrollment.**
Every registered student organization and each school has a representative on the Syndrome editorial board so that all groups will be represented in the yearbook. This group will solicit pictures from the students and members of the student organizations for the yearbook. However, any student can submit pictures of different activities at the Office of Student Life and we will forward them to the Syndrome editor. The editor is the Student Government Association Executive Secretary.
