Description: Gulf Coast Big Brothers & Big Sisters is a mentoring program that matches volunteers with children for a one-to-one relationship. The time requirement for a Big Brother or a Big Sister is to spend somewhere between one to four hours per week with their Little Brother/Sister.
Most of these children are between the ages of six and seventeen, and primarily come from single parent households. Our program provides these kids with a positive role model for encouragement, friendship, social skills development, and academic achievement through one-to-one mentoring. Mentors help these children grow up to be positive, productive adults.
